Alright so about a month ago I emailed Carly Margolis of ALLFORTHEMOUNTAIN, who’s jewelry I have been admiring since summer. I wrote her praising her for her genius and ahead of the time bronze jewelry. When she replied, I had asked if she had needed any extra help, being that it was winter session and I wasn’t going to be attending school for a few months. Sure enough she did. She had a few big time projects with some near by deadlines that she needed some help with. Just to be a part of her projects is an immense step in the right direction, and I am so thankful to be learning from such a gracious and talented young woman.

So here I am in these pictures headed from my place in Pasadena to Downtown LA to pick up some pieces for Carly in the most random building ever. You wouldnt know this building had a metal casting company in it unless you were guided here.

In the waiting room, I encounter another stressed out jewelry designer who pours her heart out to me about recent anxiety attacks and only having two weeks to pull together all of her photos and finished products before the deadline for Fall 2012 Jewelry makes way. Bless her heart, showing myself exactly the stress I’ll be sure to fall fast into one day by choosing anything fashion or accessory related as a career in LA.

The next day, I drove over to Carly’s with the packages that I had been dying to open, yet didn’t think it would reflect too well on myself if I did so. Carly opened the packages and inside were wax casts of one of her popular bracelets, and a bag full of rings that needed to be re-finished. My job for the next hour was to re-finish the rings with a few other necklaces that Carly had orders for. I was happy to do so.

Ill post more pictures later, but for now this was one of my first intern adventures.
